MEET THE OWNER
My name is Quintina “Tina” Taylor. I’m a native of Fredericksburg, VA. I was raised by my grandmother on a fixed income. I became a mother at the age of 17 and pursued my GED a year later. I was on welfare, received food stamps and lived on my own in subsidized housing. I knew I wanted more for myself, and my child, so I began to brainstorm on how to improve my life. I’ve always been goal driven and two things were always at the top of my list: 1) Become a hairstylist and 2) Become an accountant.
In 1996, I obtained my Cosmetology license which I still maintain today. I worked as an accounting technician in government and worked my way up to an accountant within federal, state and local government. During that time, I obtained my associates degree from Germanna Community College, then my bachelors degree from Strayer University. At that time, I worked in the government during the day and operated my own salon on evenings and weekends. Once I had my youngest daughter the long days working double-duty became unmanageable, so I closed the salon to focus on my family and love for accounting.
Fast forward several years, I’m married to my wonderful husband Marcus who is the owner and operator of a thriving barbershop. We have a blended family consisting of my two daughters Dominique (Dermatologist) and Daijah (college student), Marcus’ two sons Kaylen (working in FL) and Jaylen (Army), as well as Jaylen’s wife Amiya and two little grandsons (Jaylen II “Deuce” and Jy’aire). Marcus and I are now empty nesters living in Spotsylvania County with our cute, 11-year-old, Maltese named Mikko.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends and family, light gardening, and going to concerts and sporting events. I love football so during the NFL season my husband and I spend our Sundays watching all the games and eating good food!
I’ve always had a passion for accounting and finance. I believe obtaining knowledge of basic financial concepts are key to being financially successful. My personalized strategies of providing a understanding of money, proper record keeping, and tips on managing resources assist my clients with maintaining lucrative businesses.
